Re-COVID-19 Epidemic Awareness Message for Sierra Leoneans

Hello, friends, loved ones and neighbors across Sierra Leone, we are oblivion to inform the country about the COVID-19 surge which was declared an epidemic by the world health organization. The disease is still in existence and is ravaging other countries like Brazil. 

In that regard, let's follow all precautionary measures that where put in place as a way of preventing ourselves from contacting the virus and we all know how it devastates our country's economy, movement, and trade.

COVID-19 is still a part of our world, and though we've made progress, we must remain alert and proactive. Let’s continue to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities. 

Here are what everyone should remember

  • Protect Yourself and Others
  • Wash hands regularly with soap and clean water or use hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
  • Keep physical distance when possible, especially in crowded spaces
  • Face Masks
  • Wear a face mask in public settings, particularly where distancing is difficult
  • Clean reusable masks regularly


Vaccination

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective

If you haven’t been vaccinated, visit your nearest health center and ask for information

Encourage friends and family to get vaccinated too

Know the Symptoms

Common symptoms include fever, cough, tiredness, and difficulty breathing

If you or someone you know feels unwell, stay home and contact a health provider immediately

Stay Informed

Get updates from trusted sources like the Ministry of Health and Sanitation or the WHO

Avoid spreading rumors and misinformation

Together, we’ve faced challenges and shown great strength. Let’s keep showing love and care for one another because the health of one is the health of all.
